Who's eligible to buy

This is a mandatory, whole-of-government agreement.

All NSW Government agencies are eligible

This means that all NSW Government agencies are eligible to use – and must use – this contract to plan, buy and execute the media component on their advertising campaigns.

Non-agency buyers may also be eligible

You don’t have to be a NSW Government agency to buy under NSW Government contracts, panels and contracts.

But you do have to apply to become an eligible non-agency buyer. Once approved, you'll get an authorised buyer identification number (NSWBuy number). Use this number to buy through NSW Government schemes and contracts.

You then need to apply to buy under the Media Agency Services Contract. To do this, email the following information to advertising@customerservice.nsw.gov.au:

  • your ABN and NSWBuy number
  • when you'd like to start using the contract and how long you intend to use it for
  • the scale of your advertising, such as annual spend as well as average number and size of campaigns
  • the specific services you would be looking to access under the contract
  • the media channels you typically use (for example, print, digital, TV, radio)
  • your experience working with a media agency, including who you've worked with before.

The application review process could take several weeks. So it is important that you plan ahead. Not all applications can be approved and the outcome will depend on the supplier's capacity.

Pricing

For pricing information, contact:

  • the supplier (view contact details in 'list of suppliers'), or
  • the contract owner (click 'contract owner' above).

A percentage fee will be applied to all media spend. This percentage fee is standard across all agencies and activity. The fee is inclusive of:

  • media strategy
  • media planning
  • media buying
  • campaign implementation.

In some cases, additional charges may apply.
