eTendering is changing

The Department of Customer Service (DCS) is replacing eTendering with a new module on buy.nsw. The go-live date of the new module is expected to be July 2024.

DCS is collaborating with representatives from Agency Groups to ensure a smooth transition. Training sessions and guides will be created in time for the new module's release.

Why change

eTendering is more than 10 years old. The replacement module will be more secure and integrated with buy.nsw.

Suppliers will have a more streamlined experience, making it easier for them to do business with NSW Government.

What won't change

The way each NSW Government agency follows its own processes and uses internal systems won't change.

What will be the impact for buyers

After go-live, buyers will no longer have access to eTendering. All procurement activities will live on buy.nsw.

It's important all buyers have a buy.nsw account. If you haven’t yet, you can sign up now.

What will be the impact for suppliers

The new module will integrate with their buy.nsw account, meaning less time spent filling out fields.

After go-live, suppliers will no longer have access to eTendering.

Currently, tender notifications sit on buy.nsw and suppliers need to go to eTendering to respond. When the new module is live, this extra step won’t be needed.

Why do I still have to do training for a system that's ending?

The current system has a user compliance element that will continue until the system is replaced.  From April the training will move to self-paced , allowing you to compete the training at anytime and anyplace.

Who this is for

This free self-paced training is for NSW Government employees who use the current eTendering to issue, manage and award tenders and request for quotes from suppliers.

What you'll learn

On completion, you'll be able to:

  • create a request for tender (RFT)
  • publish an RFT
  • use the selective RFT process to leverage supplies on prequalification schemes
  • access and download tenderbox content
  • publish contract award notices.
