The National Prequalification System for Non-Residential Building (NPS) is part of the NSW Government procurement system for construction.
The NPS is a prequalification system for contractors working in multiple jurisdictions. It's managed by the Australasian Procurement and Construction Council (APCC).
The Procurement Board hasn't mandated its use. However, where it meets a business need, the NPS is strongly recommended.
The NPS doesn't apply to the construction of civil engineering assets (such as roads and bridges). It also doesn't apply to water or wastewater infrastructure projects.
