Increase in landfill for Waste Management Contract

Landfill levy increasing by 7% from 1 July 2023.

The cost of the landfill levy is increasing by 7% to align with the changes to the NSW Waste Levy. The pricing for all other cost components and services remains the same.

Changes will be automatically applied to invoices for transactions from 1 July 2023 onwards.

Rates increased under the terms of the head agreement

From 1 October 2022 Waste Management Contract (C9698) rates have increased under the terms of the head agreement. These rates have not varied for 2 years.

Suppliers will adjust their invoices to account for these price increases from October onwards.

Waste Management Contract 9698 landfill levy increased

Landfill levy pricing increased by 3%.

From 1 July 2022, the landfill levy cost component increases by 3% to reflect changes to the NSW Waste Levy.

Pricing for all other cost components and services remains unchanged.

Buyers do not need to take any action. Changes will be applied automatically to invoices for transactions from 1 July 2022 onwards.

New whole-of-government Waste Management Contract

New contract to replace current arrangement from 1 October 2020.

NSW Procurement has awarded the new whole-of-government Waste Management Contract.

The new contract starts on 1 October 2020 and will be managed by NSW Procurement.

View the list of awarded suppliers by region and category.

Phased transition

Transition to the new contract will be phased, starting with sites that will remain with current suppliers.

No action is required from you right now. NSW Procurement will be reaching out to site managers to transition sites over to the new arrangement.

If needed, you can extend current contracts on a month-by-month basis until your sites are transitioned.
