Annual Head Agreement - Contract 101 Office Supplies price variation changes

Contract 101 Office Supplies price variation changes will take effect once agreed by each supplier.

As part of the contract annual price review variation, the Department of Education has been negotiating with suppliers to minimise the impact of increases as set out in the contracts.

For Complete Office Supplies, an exceptional price variation limited to a small number of items on the COS buy.nsw catalogue applies from 16 August, 2023.

For Winc, price variation on the Winc buy.nsw catalogue applies from 3 October, 2023.

Contract 101: Office Supplies extended to 8 September 2024

Contract 101: Office Supplies has been extended with the same terms and conditions.

The Department of Education has extended the Office Supplies contract to 8 September 2024.

No action is required from buyers or suppliers.

Copy paper supply disruption on Contract 101 Office Supplies

A supply chain challenge is impacting orders with Winc, Cultural Choice and Compete Office Supplies (COS)

Buyers may experience restrictions when ordering white copy paper due to a supply chain challenge.

Manufacturers Opal Australian Paper has flagged to suppliers on contract 101 production difficulties from 20 December 2022. This is due to a court injunction to a key wood supplier, reducing pulp supply.

Suppliers have since advised the following measures:

  • Winc: limit on order quantity
  • Cultural Choice: pricing impact but no order limits
  • COS: no supply restrictions.

As part of the annual price review for Contract 101 Office Supplies, the Department of Education has been negotiating with the suppliers to minimise the impact of price.

These price variations will take effect on 10 October 2022 on the supplier catalogues on catalogues.buy.nsw.

Contract 101 Office Supplies extended to 8 September 2023

As part of the annual price review for Contract 101 Office Supplies, the Department of Education has been negotiating with suppliers to minimise the impact of increases as set out in the contract.

The COS price variation will take effect on 1 July 2022 on the COS catalogue on catalogues.buy.nsw.

Ban on certain plastics in NSW for Contract 101 Office Supplies

Plastic shopping bags ban effective 1 June 2022

From 1 June 2022, certain products from Contract 101 Office Supplies will be banned. This decision complies with the Plastic Reduction and Circular Economy Act 2021.

Any products from the banned categories will be removed and/or replaced with suitable alternatives. Where there are no alternatives, the products won’t be replaced.

Banned products include:

  • lightweight plastic shopping bags – bags with handles that are 35 microns or less in thickness at any part of the bag.
  • single-use plastic shopping bags made from or containing compostable plastics single-use plastic shopping bags made from or containing compostable plastics

The ban does not apply to other plastic bags, such as:

  • barrier bags that protect unpackaged food (e.g., fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, or fish)
  • bin liner bags
  • human or animal waste bags
  • produce bags
  • bags used for medical purposes and
  • sealed product packaging bags

Price variations for Cultural Choice and Winc.

As part of the annual price review for Contract 101 Office Supplies, the Department of Education has been negotiating with suppliers to minimise the impact of price increases.

Price variations and a new $9.90 fee for Cultural Choice orders less than $75 have already been applied on catalogues.buy.nsw.

Price variations and a new $9.90 fee for Winc orders less than $75 will take effect from 1 December.

Cultural Choice price variations and minimum order fee effective 1 June 2021.

From 1 June 2021 the below will apply for Cultural Choice under Contract 101 Office Supplies:

  • price decrease of 1% of across all contracted items
  • orders less than $75 will attract a processing fee of $9.90.

Consolidation of orders will not only avoid minimum order charges, but also contribute towards the government's carbon emission policy in the reduction of CO2 emissions.

The price variation and minimum order fee will apply from 1 June 2021 on the Cultural Choice catalogue on catalogues.buy.nsw.
