Contract 102 Janitorial and Catering Supplies price variation changes will take effect once agreed by each supplier.

As part of the contract annual price review variation, the Department of Education has been negotiating with suppliers to minimise the impact of increases as set out in the contracts.

For Complete Office Supplies, an exceptional price variation limited to a small number of items on the COS buy.nsw catalogue applied from 16 August 2023.

For Winc, price variation on the Winc buy.nsw catalogue applied from 3 October 2023.

For Bunzl, price variation on the Bunzl buy.nsw catalogue will apply from 12 October 2023.

Contract 102: Janitorial and Catering Supplies extended to 8 September 2024

The COS price variation will take effect on 1 July 2022 on the COS catalogue on catalogues.buy.nsw.

Ban on certain plastics in NSW for Contract 102 Janitorial and Catering Supplies

Plastic shopping bags ban effective 1 June 2022

From 1 June 2022, certain products from Contract 102 Janitorial and Catering Supplies will be banned. This decision complies with the Plastic Reduction and Circular Economy Act 2021.

Any products from the banned categories will be removed and/or replaced with suitable alternatives. Where there are no alternatives, the products won’t be replaced.

Banned products include:

  • lightweight plastic shopping bags – bags with handles that are 35 microns or less in thickness at any part of the bag.
  • single-use plastic shopping bags made from or containing compostable plastics single-use plastic shopping bags made from or containing compostable plastics

The ban does not apply to other plastic bags, such as:

  • barrier bags that protect unpackaged food (e.g., fruit, vegetables, dairy, meat, or fish)
  • bin liner bags
  • human or animal waste bags
  • produce bags
  • bags used for medical purposes and
  • sealed product packaging bags

As part of the annual price review for Contract 102 Janitorial and Catering Supplies, the Department of Education has been negotiating with suppliers to minimise the impact of price increases.

Price variations for Bunzl have already been applied on catalogues.buy.nsw.

Price variations and a new $9.90 fee for Winc orders less than $75 will take effect from 1 December.

Complete Office Supplies (COS) price variations and minimum order fee will apply from 3 December 2020.

As part of the annual price review, the Department of Education has been negotiating with suppliers to minimise the impact of increases as set out in the contract.

Introduction of minimum order fee

Orders less than $75 will attract a processing fee of $9.90.

Consolidation of orders will also contribute towards the government’s carbon emission policy in the reduction of CO2 emissions.

The price variation and minimum order fee will apply from 14 December 2020 on the COS catalogue on catalogues.buy.nsw.

Hygiene and PPE price variations on Contract 102 Janitorial and Catering Supplies

Bunzl have increased prices on some hygiene and PPE items due to COVID-19 impacts on supply and demand.

The Department of Education, along with the Category Management Working Group, has reviewed and approved price variations for Bunzl hygiene and PPE items under Contract 102 Janitorial and Catering Supplies.

Price variations to the affected items will apply from 15 June 2020 on the Bunzyl on catalogues.buy.nsw.
