Suspends new procurements involving KPMG and establishes an approval and reporting process for engagements with KPMG that come from existing in-flight procurements, the extension, renewal or variations of existing engagements.

The NSW Procurement Board approved Procurement Board Direction 2026-03. It is effective from 17 June 2026 until withdrawn.

What do buyers need to do?

This board direction instructs all government agencies to suspend starting any new procurement activities involving KPMG.

This applies across all government procurement arrangements including whole-of-government schemes or panels, agency-specific schemes or panels, and procurements outside those arrangements.

The relevant Department Secretary (or delegate) must provide written approval for engagements with KPMG that come from in-flight procurement activities involving KPMG, or current engagements with KPMG that are subject to extension, renewal or variation.

All new, extended, renewed, or varied engagements with KPMG also need to be reported to the Procurement Board.

Reporting

Procurement Board report data will be collected via the reporting under PBD 2026-03 form and will be sent to NSWCPO@treasury.nsw.gov.au
